Creating bedroom bliss
Posted On December 21, 2016
Your bedroom should make you say, “Ahhhhh” as soon as you walk in and, “Zzzzzzz” not long after! Small changes to decor can make a big difference in how you sleep.
Here are just a few:
Make sure you love your furniture
What's more your style? Coastal or rustic? Choose something with bead board details or natural wood elements.
For a luxe look, select furniture with rich textures and deep colors. Consider an upholstered bed for an upscale, sophisticated look.

Step into something comfortable
From a luxurious rug to a plush comforter & throw, opt for materials that are soft to the touch.
Add color & fun with accessories
Throw on a pile of colorful pillows for added comfort & fun, or add a beautiful piece of artwork above your bed for a pop of your favorite color. Or maybe it's a reminder of a special trip or vacation, like your honeymoon.
Lighten it up
A bedroom that’s too dark may feel romantic at times, but it won’t be functional for dressing, and it won't have a positive effect on your mood.
If you have a reading nook, or if you often read in bed, it’s nice have a lamp that could swivel to provide direct light without creating shadows.

Vary your lighting sources (nightstands, floor lamps, ceiling lights) and add dimmers or 3-way bulbs whenever possible.
A good mattress is key
When is the last time you bought a new mattress? If it was 10 years ago or more, it’s time for a new one!

Use a touch of tech for a sound sleep
Believe it or not, there are digital considerations these days when buying a new bed—beyond the typical hunt for memory foam and a beautiful headboard. Now, you can get a SmartMotion base
that’s not only adjustable, but it connects to an app that will track your sleep habits and provide tips for an improved sleep.
