With the school year starting to rev up into full swing it's important to stay organized in the house. Kids run in the door and throw their coats, shoes and backpacks on the floor and before you know it your home is looking like a hot mess. Here are some tips to keep a tidy entryway...

If you don't have space for a large unit, baskets on the ground are an accessible way for family members to keep their belongings together.

Hanging hooks at a kid friendly level makes it easy for them to stay neat.

This set up takes it to the next level with an additional rack for keys and odds and ends, plus a cork board to tack notes to.

Magazine racks are a great way to keep families organized. Each member can have their own slot to keep homework and mail. Adding a chalkboard or calendar at the front door is another bonus for jotting down daily schedules.

Even adding hooks is a simple solution. With a little time and effort you can DIY this custom look by adding extra wood panels to frame out the space, just look at how amazing this before and after shot is.
