Want a room that stands out from the rest? Don't be afraid to mix and match patterns. Bold bohemian and tribal patterns are everywhere right now. The key when pairing patterns together is to choose ones that vary in scale and are not too similar to each other. This will keep them from competing with each other. Try a floral or ikat with a stripe for example. To keep your room looking cohesive try using at least one of your patterns in more than one place and be sure to incorporate some solids to break things up.     When it comes to color, try drawing from the colors of a piece you absolutely love for inspiration. Maybe you have a piece of artwork, blanket or a throw pillow with a color combination you're drawn too. Start there and base the rest of your color choices around that pre-determined color palette and you can’t go wrong.
