Adding Halloween Flair to your Fall Display
Posted On October 11, 2012
Last week we talked about how to add a seasonal look to a mantel or console table
(see here). Because this look is so versatile by swapping out a few items you can easily transform the look from fall inspired to Halloween then later again back to a fall theme for Thanksgiving.

Swap out your typical artwork in frames for a spooky image found online or have your kids create their own Halloween artwork. These flying bats add so much excitement to the wall and seem like a quick and easy project to tackle!

Most importantly, add lots of black to the display to bring out the Halloween spirit.

The LED branches cast a cool glow on the decorations but there's no need to buy anything. You can get the same look by collecting branches outside and spray painting them black. To add a glow, add some holiday lights or battery operated t-lights behind them.

Create a creepier feel with ravens perched on the branches...

Or bats flying around. Use fishing line instead of orange ribbon to make them really appear as if they are floating.

Speaking of bats, here is a cute
tutorial on how to transform miniature pumpkins into bat pumpkins! Such a fun activity for kids and they'd look great around the house.

Another way to vamp up your fall display is to replace glass jars with spiders, skulls, and moss.
